Lovely Perfume Review

With so many celebrities slapping their names on anything that they can its hard to know whether a celebrity perfume will be good or just more crap designed to make a buck. You have no way of knowing if the perfume was thrown together over a couple of meetings or if actual work was done to make a quality scent. Well, I can tell you that is not the case with Sarah Jessica Parker’s Lovely perfume.
Sarah Jessica Parker took the opportunity to make a perfume very seriously. She said “I’ve been invited into women’s lives and I take that seriously”. So between her and Coty Inc. perfumers Laurent Le Guernec and Clement Gavarry they took 5 years to make this single perfume.
The inspiration to create Lovely was to layer scents. The top layer includes mandarin, bergmot, rosewood, lavender, and apple martini. This top layer gives off a soft scent that is both citrusy and woodsy. The middle layer includes patchouli, paper whites, and orchids. These middle scents are very subtle and not over powering as many floral scents can be. The bottom layer includes cedar, white amber, musk, and woodsy scents. Ending wraps up Lovely perfume nicely with a soft cedar and musk scent.
Sarah Jessica Parker didn’t want to make a perfume that dominated the room and I think she achieved her goal with Lovely. As it is a very soft unobtrusive smell that stays close to the skin. A quality that I think makes this perfume good for women of all ages. Overall Lovely is a great perfume that is soft, feminine, long lasting, and a truly lovely scent.
